HMD Global finally confirms Android 11 update for a range of Nokia smartphones

We love Nokia smartphones! By reading the headline I think you should already have known the reason. HMD Global, the company behind Nokia smartphones have always stuck to their promise of two years of Operating System update and three years of security updates for all Nokia smartphones, and now, they have released the timelines for upgrading its Android 11- ready Smartphones to the latest Android OS. Android 11 is the latest OS released by Google recently and packs new features that you will surely love.

HMD Global Android 11 update rollout is planned to begin in Q4 2020 starting with the latest Nokia 8.3 that is a 5G ready device and the Nokia 5.3. That’s not all, the company also said that owners of the Nokia 2.2 and Nokia 8.1 will also be among the first to experience Android 11 this year. Nokia Android 11 update will be in four waves, here is the breakdown and list of Nokia devices that will get the update:

The second wave (Q1 2021)

Third-wave (Q1-Q2 2021)

Fourth wave (Q2 2021)

Nokia smartphones run on a stock Android, Android one which makes them easy to update compared to other Android phones. The company also went ahead and promised Android 12 update on its new entry-level smartphones such as Nokia 3.4 and Nokia 2.4 during its launch event.
