In its annual developer conference held in Dongguan back in September, Huawei announced that it was planning to launch its proprietary HarmonyOS (the new Huawei Operating System) on Smartphones in 2021. This comes after Huawei has been fighting a business ban with US companies including Google-owned Android operating system that made the firm to start selling smartphones without Google apps. Despite this, Huawei devices without Google apps have been running so good with the Huawei Mobile Services.

Huawei’s HarmonyOS is huge in size and is planned to be installed in various smartphones, wearables and Huawei consumer products. According to Huawei, it will start rolling out in 2021 on publicly available handheld devices.

The firm also said that it will be upgrading its existing Android phones to HarmonyOS. A leaked release roadmap has now revealed what devices will be upgraded to this OS. It is also worth to mention that Huawei had revealed that this OS is already installed in some of its China-only Smart TVs.
