Xiaomi, the worlds fourth-largest Smartphone brand has announced a new fast-charging technology accessory with a new 80W wireless charger that the company claims beats up any other competitor and ahead of any other smartphone brands offering a similar solution. This comes after Apple unveiled new wireless charging technology with the Magsafe chargers for iPhone 12 that can charge up to 15W.
Xiaomi claims that the new 80W wireless charger is capable of fully charging a 4,000mAh battery in just 19 minutes. That’s not all, the company also says that the new 80W wireless charger can take 8 minutes or less to charge the same 4,000mAh battery from 0 to 50%.
The company also has other fastest wireless charging technology solution and already shipping on the Mi 10 Ultra phone (equipped with 120W wired charging support). The Mi 10 Ultra has a 50W wireless technology that can fully charge its 4,500mAh battery in 40 minutes. This was a major leap forward from the 30W wireless charging tech that the company introduced last year and now the company have moved forward to 80W Mi Wireless Charging Technology.
The introduction of 80W Mi Wireless Charging Technology is expected to set a new benchmark not only in the area of wireless charging but in charging as a whole. Xiaomi has been spearheading this trend by recognizing the importance of battery life and faster charging for the future development of smartphones.
In March 2020, Xiaomi introduced to the world 40W wireless charging, in August that record was broken by Xiaomi’s first mass-produced 50W wireless charging technology, only to be broken again with 80W Mi Wireless Charging Technology. In less than a year, three technological breakthroughs and three new records.
The company is yet to announce the date for the official launch and the pricing of the device but we expect that it will be officially unveiled and available for shipping early next year.
